Three and a half years after the maiden flight of the Airbus A350 Lufthansa has now received their very first one!
The carbon-fibre designed aircraft is part of the modernization of the fleet and will now slowly take over the first A330 routes to Delhi, Bosten and Mumbai from February on, adding the second and third destination with further deliveries. .
To welcome the A350-900 in Munich Lufthansa has organized a special event, which jetspotting.com has been honored to accompany.
Due to sub-zero temperatures the crew has sadly not been greeted by a water-salute, but has been welcomed by many employees and press representatives at its designated parking position.
As seen on the pictures it got a bit dark, as it has been the shortest day of the year and due to the low clouds in Munich the aircraft landed with a little delay, but photographers did their best!
After two Months of testing and installing the new Lufthansa Cabin, the airline has once again organized a special event for the press and employees for naming the aircraft and welcoming it to the active fleet!
The huge hangar in Munich was fitted with chairs, speakers, foodtrucks, lighting and much more to make this an event to be remembered! After Speaches by Carsten Spohr, Lufthansa CEO, Michael Kerkloh, Head of Munich Airport and by a representative from Airbus all visitors were able to walk around the aircraft freely, which was an amazing opportunity for all photographers.
In the end would like to especially thank Lufthansa for inviting me to both events, which were amazing!
Looking forward to the first landing of the 777X 😉
